On My Mind

1. I scrolled back through my Facebook posts and realized that 75% of the things I talk about revolve around food - gardening, shopping, cooking or eating.

2. Man cannot live on bread alone (but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.)

3. Waste not, want not.

4. What will we eat after the zombie apocalypse?

5. Growing my own fruits and vegetables. Wish I could have chickens!

6. Joy of Illinois Farm, a blessing from the dairy gods.

7. I really ought to get over to the Champaign Farmer's Market on Thursday.

8. Fat. Beef, pork, chicken, goose, duck, mutton. Why pay to use Crisco and vegetable oil when you can make the good stuff for mere pennies?

9. I'm tired of producing so much garbage. We should be composting more. What to do with the kitty litter?

10. I think if we Americans changed the way we eat we would solve 75% of our problems. Pollution, obesity, allergies, traffic congestion, so on and so forth. I have no science to back this up, just a distinct feeling that we are going about this all wrong.

11. Fresh mozzarella cheese. Remember to buy rennet.
